Custom domain
Change your site's Hafoso address, connect your own domain, and redirect old links.
Your website and workspace start on a Hafoso address such as acme.hafoso.com. You can change that subdomain, or
connect a domain you own, such as www.acme.com, so visitors and your team use your own name. Both are set in
Website → Site Settings, on the Domain tab.
You need permission to change the workspace domain; workspace admins have it. Your own domain isn't included in every plan: if saving it is refused, check your plan in Settings → Billing.
Change your subdomain
The Subdomain card shows Your site's address. To change it, type a new subdomain (3 to 40 lowercase letters, digits and hyphens) and select Save. Some names are reserved, and each subdomain can be used by only one workspace.
Links to the old address stop working at once, including bookmarks and links in emails you've already sent. Use Open the admin on the new address and sign in again there.
Connect your own domain
On the Custom domain card, enter your domain as a plain host name, such as www.acme.com, without https://
or a path. Select Save. Its status shows Pending.
The DNS records table lists the records to add: a TXT record that proves you own the domain, and a record that points the domain to Hafoso. Use Copy next to each value.
Sign in to the company where you manage your domain (your registrar or DNS provider) and add each record with exactly the Type, Name and Value shown.
Back on the Domain tab, select Verify now. Each record shows Found or Not found yet. DNS changes can take a while to spread, so if a record isn't found yet, try again later.
When every record is found, the status turns Verified. Your website, sign-in page and workspace then work on your domain, with a secure connection. Your Hafoso subdomain keeps working, and its public pages forward visitors to your domain, so search engines and shared links use one address.
Hafoso checks your domain again regularly. If its records are removed or changed, the status turns Failed, your admins get an email, and the site goes back to the Hafoso subdomain until you fix the records and verify again. Remove disconnects your domain straight away in the same way.
Some DNS providers don't allow this kind of record on a bare domain such as acme.com. Connecting www.acme.com is
the simplest choice; your provider can usually forward acme.com to it.
Redirect old links
If you move or rename a page, or you're replacing an older website, send visitors from the old paths to the new ones. Open Website → Site Settings → Redirects, select Create New, enter the old path as the From URL, and choose where it goes: an Internal link to one of your pages or posts, or a Custom URL.
